Applying for a nursing position in Saudi Arabia involves a number of stages, from your initial eligibility assessment and hospital application through to interview, professional licensing, visa processing and finally travel. Profco (Professional Connections) supports you throughout the recruitment process. Our role is not simply to submit your CV to a hospital. We help you prepare your application, understand the requirements, prepare for interview and progress through the professional licensing, compliance and onboarding stages.

REGISTER OR SIGN IN TO MYPROFCO
Create your MyProfco record to receive information about suitable vacancies, upload your CV and documents, complete your application and communicate with your Profco recruiter.
Register and upload your current CV. Your recruiter will review your information and upload the relevant enquiry brochure, application forms and supporting information to the Documents section of your MyProfco record.
You will receive a notification when documents are available.
If you are interested in proceeding after reviewing the information, a Teams meeting will be arranged with your recruiter to discuss suitable vacancies, your eligibility, the application process and any questions you have.
Why Do We Use MyProfco?
MyProfco keeps your CV, application forms, supporting documents and recruitment information together in one candidate record. This helps you and your recruiter keep track of the information that has been submitted, identify documents or information that may still be required and reduce the risk of important documents becoming lost, duplicated or separated across different emails.
Step 2 - Receive Your Enquiry Information
Your Profco recruiter will review your experience against the nursing opportunities available to you. Relevant enquiry information and supporting documents will be uploaded to the Documents section of your MyProfco record for you to review. If you would like to proceed, we will arrange a Teams meeting to discuss your potential vacancies, eligibility, salary and benefits, application requirements and the recruitment process.
Step 3 - Complete Your Profco CV and Application Documents
Complete all required sections of your MyProfco CV and upload the requested application forms and supporting documents individually to your record. Accuracy is important. Your employment history, qualifications, professional registration and dates should be complete and consistent throughout your application.
What Should I Upload to MyProfco?
Your recruiter will confirm the documents required for your particular application.
Depending on the position and stage of your application, these may include:
- Current CV or completed MyProfco CV
- Nursing degree
- Academic transcript ( apply for one if you do not have one)
- Nursing registration or licence
- Passport
- Recent professional photograph
- Employment certificates
- Completed application and consent forms
- Relevant clinical or professional certificates
Step 4 - Application Review and Interview Preparation
Your recruiter will review your application and supporting documentation and discuss with you any missing information or documents that need attention. Profco helps you prepare for your hospital interview. Interview preparation includes guidance on the interview process together with relevant clinical, speciality-specific and non-clinical interview questions so that you understand the type of questions you may be asked and can prepare thoroughly.
Step 5 - Application Submitted to the Hospital
Once your application is complete and you meet the requirements for the vacancy, your application can be submitted to the hospital for consideration. The hospital will review your qualifications and experience against the requirements of the position.
Step 6 - Hospital Interview and Employment Decision
If shortlisted, you will normally be invited to attend an online hospital interview. The interview is an important part of the selection process and may assess your nursing experience, clinical knowledge, speciality knowledge and suitability for the position. Following the interview and hospital assessment, successful candidates may receive an employment offer.
Step 7 - Professional Licensing and Document Verification
The next stage involves completing the professional licensing requirements applicable to your position.
For nurses travelling to Saudi Arabia this will include requirements involving the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), professional classification, primary-source verification/DataFlow and the Prometric examination. Profco will guide you through the requirements relevant to your application.
Step 8 - Compliance, Medical and Visa Processing
Your recruitment process will then progress through the applicable pre-employment and immigration requirements.
Depending on your circumstances and the hospital's requirements, this may include:
- Outstanding professional documentation
- Licensing requirements
- Document verification
- Police clearance
- Medical examination
- Visa documentation and processing
- Other hospital or immigration documentation
Your Profco recruiter will advise you about the requirements applicable to your individual application.
Step 9 - Preparing to Leave Your Current Employment
International recruitment involves several stages, so candidates should avoid making important employment or relocation decisions prematurely. Your recruiter will help you understand your progress through the process so that you can plan your notice period and intended relocation appropriately. Starting the process early can also allow you to progress your application and professional licensing while continuing to work in your current nursing position.
Step 10 - Travel and Hospital Orientation
Once the required recruitment, licensing, compliance, medical and visa stages have been completed, travel can be arranged in accordance with an available hospital orientation. Your recruiter will provide the relevant pre-departure information to help you prepare for your move and commencement of employment.
How Long Does the Saudi Nurse Recruitment Process Take?
There is no single timeframe that applies to every candidate.
The overall recruitment period can vary according to factors such as:
- Hospital and position
- Contract type
- Professional licensing requirements
- DataFlow/document verification
- Prometric requirements
- Availability and accuracy of your documentation
- Medical and visa processing
- Available hospital orientation dates
- Your existing employment notice period
Your Profco recruiter will discuss your individual circumstances with you and help you understand the stages that still need to be completed.
