Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICUC)

MICUC is an inclusive of long term chronic ventilated patients. The unit provides care for medical patients over the age of 13 years with conditions that require close observation and pulse oximetry monitoring. Admission from ER should be reviewed and accepted by the ICU Team except patients from Home Ventilation Program. No. of Beds: 12 - Fluid and electrolyte balance and replacement - Blood and blood component administration - Airway management - Skin and respiratory care - Pain management - Administration of pharmacological agents - Emergency resuscitation procedures - Management of postoperative drains and wound care - Safety management - Infection control - Psychosocial care - Tracheostomy care - Nutritional care and Enteral Feeding - Bedside bronchoscopy, endoscopy - Bedside percutaneous tracheostomy - Spiritual care - Patient / Family significant other education - Administration of cytotoxic agents (by chemo-certified nurses’ only) - IV cannulation insertion and care - 12 lead electrocardiogram - POCT monitoring - Bone marrow aspiration - Thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar punctures, skin biopsies and temporary CVC - Peripherally inserted CVC (PICC Nurse) - Hemodialysis (by Dialysis nurses) - Plasmapheresis (by Blood Bank nurses) - Staples and suture removal - Phlebotomy in emergency situations and in the absence of phlebotomist - Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) and Epidural analgesia - Reading for CVC and Intra-Abdominal and Arterial Pressures - Wound management (Wound Debridement, VAC dressing) - Bedside Gastrostomy Change - Chest Tube Management - Palliative and End of Life Care - Inotropes for Emergency like RRT cases and Codes - ETT care for DNAR patients - Rehabilitation including physiotherapy, occupational, Speech and Language therapy - Collaborative Care link with Home Health Care and Home Ventilation Program - Rapid Response Team covering East Wing units - Home Ventilation Hotline Response

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Current registration as a professional registered nurse. Eligible for registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Minimum of two (2) years of current clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration in the country of origin.
