Step 2 – Review the Opportunity
Information relevant to your potential nursing opportunities will be made available through your MyProfco record.
Before applying, you should understand the position, hospital, eligibility requirements, salary and benefits, and the recruitment process involved.
Your Profco recruiter can discuss these with you and answer questions about the opportunity.

We will also help you prepare for your hospital interview.
Interview preparation may include guidance on the interview process together with clinical, speciality-specific and non-clinical practice questions, helping you understand the types of questions you may be asked and prepare thoroughly.
Step 5 – Application Submitted to the Hospital
Once your application is complete and you meet the requirements of the vacancy, it can be submitted to the hospital for consideration.
The hospital will assess your qualifications and nursing experience against the requirements of the position.
Submission of an application does not guarantee an interview or employment offer.
Step 6 – Hospital Interview & Employment Decision
If shortlisted, you will normally be invited to attend an online hospital interview.
Depending on the position, the interview may assess areas including:
- Relevant nursing experience
- Clinical knowledge
- Speciality-specific knowledge

- Suitability for the position
Following the interview and hospital assessment, successful candidates may receive an employment offer.
Step 7 – Saudi Nursing Licensing & Document Verification
Nurses progressing towards employment in Saudi Arabia must meet the professional licensing requirements applicable to their position.
This may involve professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), primary-source verification/DataFlow and applicable examination requirements.
Profco will guide you through the requirements relevant to your application.
For more detailed information, see our dedicated Saudi Nursing Licence: SCFHS, DataFlow & Prometric guide.
Step 8 – Compliance, Medical & Visa Processing
Once you progress through the recruitment process, there will be pre-employment, hospital and immigration requirements to complete.
Depending on your application, these may include:
- Outstanding professional documents
- Licensing and verification requirements
- Police clearance
- Medical examination
- Visa documentation and processing
- Additional hospital or immigration documentation
Your Profco recruiter will advise you about the requirements that apply to your individual application.
Step 9 – Plan Your Notice Period & Relocation
International nurse recruitment involves several stages, and the time required can vary between candidates.
Avoid resigning from your current employment or making irreversible relocation arrangements too early in the process.
Your recruiter will help you understand your progress so that you can plan your notice period and relocation at an appropriate stage.
Starting your application early can allow you to progress recruitment and licensing requirements while continuing to work in your current nursing position.
Step 10 – Travel & Hospital Orientation
Once the required recruitment, licensing, compliance, medical and visa stages have been completed, travel can be arranged in line with the employer's requirements and available hospital orientation dates.
Profco will provide the relevant pre-departure information to help you prepare for your move to Saudi Arabia and commencement of employment.
