The Surgical Unit is a 46-bed inpatient unit divided between two nursing stations, 3 North and 3 South, operating under a combined nursing management and staff nursing team.
The unit provides nursing care to patients aged 14 years and above requiring elective or emergency surgery across a wide range of specialties, including:

The unit also cares for patients from other specialties, including Medical, Gynaecology, Neurology, Palliative Care and Cardiology, according to admission and nursing privilege criteria.
Many patients require complex diagnostic assessment and preparation before surgery, followed by minor or major surgical procedures and comprehensive post-operative care.
Registered Nurses provide close post-operative monitoring and comprehensive medical and surgical nursing care throughout the patient’s recovery.
